Effet neuro protecteur et hépato protecteur de « Zingiber officinale » sur l’intoxication éthylique aiguë(IEA) (étude in vivo)

Abstract

Alcohol is a legal and regulated drug, whose psychactive substance is ethanol. This toxic molecule for the body easily crosses tissue barriers. Alcohol consumption determines a state of intoxication to which many authors prefer the term acute ethyl poisoning. Acute ethyl poisoning is defined as the set of organic and mental symptoms observed by massive ingestion of alcohol in the body. Acute ethyl poisoning treatment is initially symptomatic and sometimes hospital. Consquently, prevention remains the best solution. Zingiber officinaleis a medicinal plant, it has multiple biological activites beneficial to human healthy and know for its hepato-protective and neuroprotective effects against various intoxications, in particular acute ethyl poisoning. The objective of this work is to determine the effect of zingiber officinale against acute ethyl poisoning, by in vivo study in mice of the wistar strain elicited by oral administration of ethanol (CH3CH2OH) at a dose of 25 ml/kg diluted in 250 ml of water. The results obtained showed that the administration of ethanol mice caused disruption of many functions of the organism (hepatic) with disturbances in serum levels of enzymes that are markers of this fonction (neurological) with a learning dificit and memory impairment, the study of biochemical parameters revealed disturbances in serum calcium and cholesterol levels compared to other experimental groups. The light of the results obtained, it appears that the mice treated with zingiber officinale show result similar to the control ones from a hematological, biochemical, and histological point of view.
