Abstract

Textile dyes are classified as refractory organic compounds and non-biodegradable. They represent a potential danger to humans and the environment. The need for new technologies, effective and energy efficient to reduce the pollution becomes imperative. Among these techniques based on electrical discharges and classified as advanced oxidation processes, proven in the laboratory for the destruction of common organic compounds and a large number of recalcitrant compounds. One of them discharge slippery or "glidarc" is particularly well suited for industrial environments with operating costs and modest investment for a notable efficiency. It is capable of processing liquid or pure organic solutes This work was carried out in the field of pollution of waters by advanced oxidation processes, particularly in environments heterogeneous photocatalysis (TiO R2R photo catalysis based). We began our study of the two dyes Orange II and malachite green in the presence of a catalyst TiO2 we followed by measuring the absorbance at characteristic wavelengths at 484 and 617 nm respectively. The results have shown that these dyes are entirely in the solution. Monitoring of COD decreases with time. In this study, we also showed that a mixture of two dyes is also subject to elimination. Treatment of the mixture (Orange II + malachite green) catalytic plasma has 76.18% and 81.07 discolor respectively after 120 minutes of treatment and achieve a rate of reduction of COD of 86.2% after 2 hours of treatment. We concluded that the heterogeneous photocatalysis on TiO2 is an efficient method for the treatment of colored water in our experimental conditions.
