In recent years, scientific research has focused on the biologically active compounds of medicinal plants intended for use in phytopharmaceuticals fields, one of the diseases that today constitutes a real public health problem due to its prevalence, which is female infertility. It is in this context that our study is being carried out, which aims to identify the traditional herbal remedies that are used to treat the female infertility problems.
The ethno-botanical survey conducted on 30 herbalists in Mostaganem region, lead us to identify nine medicinal plants used to treat this disease; our selection is based on two frequently used plants: thymelieahirista and Anastatica hierochuntica, which will later be the subject of a phytochemical study. All the results obtained show the richness of these two species in flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, free quinones, phenols and flavonoids. Glycosides by decoction.
