Résumé:
The objective of this study was to evaluate some internal and external duck egg characteristics
A total of 100 fresh eggs were used in the current study. Duck eggs were collected from rural families in the province of Tiaret. The eggs were cleaned, and numbered to assess their internal and external characteristics. The average egg weight was 58.7g, while the average weight of the shell, the albumen, and the yolk were 5,73g, 31,4g, and 21.57g, respectively. The correlations values between internal and external quality characteristics of duck eggs were overall significant (P <0.01) with the exception of pH and Haugh units. For duck egg weight prediction, the goodness of fit test was performed to compare the predictive performance using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Automatic Linear Regression (RLA). The R2 values were 0.961 and 0.999 for RNA and RLA, respectively. These results could be useful in the design and implementation of breeding programs and strategies to improve the production potential of local ducks.
