Résumé:
This work concerns contribution to the study of Limonium in the region of Mostaganem. The contribution focuses on highlighting the interest of coastal areas as national or even international heritage and by proposing certain easy and practical solutions for the restoration or rehabilitation of degraded areas. During the study of the flora and vegetation of the Mostaganem coast and exactly the zone of the salamandre and sablettes, at the level of western Algeria, the genus Limonium was the subject of specific work accompanied by a inventory of the species of the group where limonium is found, in this particular habitat. The presence of species reported in the literature for this region and our observations allowed us to confirm the taxonomy of certain taxa which remained rather confused in recent literature. The ecological variables determining the distribution of these species in this region; and environmental. Due to the alarming vulnerability of the sites visited and the threats, in particular anthropogenic, to which they are subjected, a reflection on the protection of habitats and their hosts seems urgent.
