Résumé:
The Mediterranean region is known for its rich flora. For this a study is dedicated to enrich the information on the Asteraceae family in the Oran region. The results led to identify 101 species of this family belonging to 54 genera of which the genus Centaurea dominates this family with 13 species. The analysis of the biological and biogeographic types existing at the level of the surveys shows on the one hand that the dominant biological type is the therophyte type with 61%, followed by the hemicryptophytes with 24% then the chamaéphytes (13%), the geophytes (2%). On the other hand, it is the Mediterranean element that dominates the biogeographical types with 29 species. There are 17 endemic species. After comparing our results with previous research, we were able to prove the dominance of Asteraceae in the Oran region. This family, which is rich in therophytic species of the Mediterranean chorological type, can adapt to disturbance regimes and stress conditions induced by the peculiarities of the Mediterranean bioclimate and grazing.
