Résumé:
The aim of this work was to isolate and identify protease-producing bacterial isolates from chicken feathers. Thus, 04 bacterial isolates were isolated and identified (S1, S2, S3, and S4) to the microbiology laboratories of the University of Mostaganem. Isolates having a high proteolytic (caseinolytic) activity due to the degradation of casein. The identification of these four proteolytic isolates was based on the morphological characteristics (macroscopic and microscopic) and on the various biochemical tests available in the laboratory. These tests allowed us to classify the four isolates in three different genera. The four isolates obtained were: S1 (Bacillus lichentforms), S2 (Staphylococcus aureus), S3 (Bacillus Macerans), S4 (Enterococcus spp).
The optimum temperature and pH for the growth of isolate S1 (B. lichoniformis) was 45 ° C and 9 respectively. PH 7 was the optimum pH for the growth of Staphylococcus aureus (S2) and Enterococcus spp (S4) isolates. However, the optimum growth temperature was 30 ° C for B.Macerans (S3), and finally Enterococcus spp reached optimal growth at 55 ° C and pH of 5.
