Résumé:
Our study consists in researching the antimicrobial activity of a plant, Calamintha nepeta belonging to the Lamiaceae family. The hydro-ethanolic extract of Calamintha nepeta exerted an antimicrobial power against the microbial strains tested, the diameters of the zones of inhibition vary between 8 and 29 mm. The most sensitive strains are C. albicans ATCC 10231, P. mirabilis ATCC 35659 and P. vulgaris ATCC 6380 with inhibition zone diameters of 29, 19 and 17 mm respectively. The least sensitive strain is E. coli ATCC 25922 with an inhibition zone diameter of 8 mm. The hydro-ethanolic extract of Calamintha nepeta exerted activity against the microbial strains tested, the values obtained ranged from 0.781 to 3.125 μL/mL for the CMI and from 3.125 to 50 μl/mL for the CMB and the CMF.
