Résumé:
The aim of this study was to evaluate antifungal formulation, honey, propolis (P-M), as a potential coating to prevent biofilm formation on medical devices such as urinary catheters.
In the first part: Antifungal testing of two honeys by diffusion method and solid technique spectrophotometer medium were performed on Candida albicans. Two dilutions were prepared ranging from 50% (v / v) and 25% (v / v).
In the second part, both in combination with honey propolis have been tested for their anti-fungal and anti-biofilm vis-à-vis 48 hours biofilms formed by C. albicans.
Our results also showed a significant inhibitory effect against C. albicans. : The inhibition zones vary between 0 mm and 12 mm and the percentages of inhibition between 0 and 98.92%.
The P-M offers impressive antifungal activity that can significantly impede biofilm formation and prolong the life of the device.
The inhibitory effect of these formulations on the bacterial and fungal development suggests application prospects in the medical field.
