During the last decades, acknowledgement of prejudice caused by nosocomial infections and research in the field of hand hygiene in human medicine have contributed to the development of infection control by hospital administrations. Despite the finding and recognition of hospital acquired infection cases in clinical settings, simple prevention measures and particularly hand hygiene are still unknown or not applied by healthcare workers in medicine.
The first part of this work is a bibliographic synthesis of knowledge in The infections associated with care and in hand hygiene.
The second part is an experimental study of hand hygiene at HPI Che Guevara's hospital evaluating the responses of 50 people to a questionnaire. It aimed at studying the knowledge and practices of hand hygiene of staff.
