Résumé:
The objective of this study is to demonstrate the effect of an ethanolic extract of propolis (EEP) harvested in the Tigzirt region (Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria) on certain biochemical parameters in male rats Wistar diabetic with obesity induced by a hyper-fat diet, and injected by streptozotocin (STZ: 35mg/kg). The rats were divided into five groups, each group containing six rats: a control group, a diabetic group without Treatment, two diabetic groups treated with different doses of propolis (100mg/kg and 200mg/kg) and a diabetic group treated with quercetin (50mg/kg).
The results obtained indicate that propolis (100mg/kg and 200mg/kg) and quercetin (50mg/kg) corrected hyperglycemia (1.23, 1.18, 1.74) respectively in diabetic rats and propolis decreased the consumption of The hyper-fat diet by improving the weight.
The level of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) is also reduced under the effect of propolis and quercetin. The effect of propolis on the HbA1C concentration is dose-dependent. The weight of diabetic rats treated with propolis (200mg / kg) increased significantly compared to untreated rats. On the other hand, creatinine and urea concentrations also decreased in diabetic rats under the effect of propolis and quercetin; Suggesting an improvement in renal function. The lipid profile of diabetic rats is also enhanced by propolis. Administration of propolis reduces the serum levels of ASAT and ALAT, thus improving plasma protein and albumin levels for diabetic rats treated with untreated intake.
