Abstract

Abstract Title: How Effective Is a Regulated Dietary Program in Reducing the Weight of Senior-Category Judo Athletes Without Affecting Their Physical Performance? Objective: This research primarily aims to evaluate a selected group of judo players using a set of dietary programs specifically designed for the senior male category, and to determine whether such a program affects physical performance in championships. The research also secondarily aims to derive principles of sports preparation for judo athletes. Methods: This final-year thesis relies on a theoretical-experimental approach, combining data collection methods, analysis of available information on judo training, a review of literature related to general sports training, and the author's extensive competition experience.Data will be analyzed using the paired samples t-test and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. Results: The findings indicate that judo athletes who achieve good results in their dietary program by reaching their ideal weight do not demonstrate a significantly higher success rate in their physical performance or competition outcomes compared to those who scored lower.Consequently, achieving a high score in the tests does not directly affect competition results or physical output. For most of the selected candidates, the differences between the two test groups range between 0.1 and 0.2 points of the average score.
