Screening phytochimique et Analyse bibliographique de l’activité Biologique de Rhamnus alaternus L

Abstract

The present study having for objective to evaluate the natural compounds of therapeutic interest and to know some biological activities of an Algerian plant species which is Rhamnus alaternus L (Family of the rhamnaceae).This latter was the subject of a phytochemical screening, and characterization of flavonoids and alkaloids by thin layer chromatography (TLC). The results showed the presence of secondary metabolites for the two aqueous extracts of infusion (aerial part) and decoction (roots), mainly alkaloids, tannins, saponosides and flavonoids The literature review of biological activities has shown that Rhamnus alaternus L exhibits a remarkable antifungal effect; moderate antibacterial activity; significant antioxidant activity of the leaves and bark and a positive anti-hepatotoxic pharmacological effect
