Evaluation des risques d’érosion hydrique: cas du bassin versant de l’Oued Kramis (Algérie)

Abstract

Study of soils water erosion risks in the wadi Kramis watershed . The aim of work is the production of a map of water erosion risk areas in the wadi Kramiss watershed. The mapping of water erosion risk is elaborated based on the method developed by RUSLE The thematic maps thus obtained are then fed into a geographical information system (GIS) for outputting a map of water erosion risks for the soils of the area which is validated by filed data. The main results obtained underline the weakness of the annual rainfall erosivity index. The area is extremely uneven, with altitudes ranging form 63 m to 757 m and above. On medium to abrupt slopes, the soil vegetable cover is generally low to non-existent. Thus the erosion risk map obtained shows that 45% of the zone studied is a high risk area. The antierosive operations suggested include technical measures as well as biological, this map is a guide for decision-makers into a program whose main objective should be a better management of water and soil resources.
