Abstract

This study is based on the effect of the hydro-ethanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis. L collected from the wilaya of Naama. on some germs involved in urogenital infections in women including Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 33862 and Candida albicans ATCC 10234. The plant extract was obtained by maceration in a hydro-ethanolic solvent (ethanol / water; 80/20; v / v). Four different methods were used to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of the hydroethanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis .L including: the direct contact method and the disc method by diffusion on agar, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC ) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (CMB). Analysis of the experimental data showed that the number of germs (Staphyloccoccus aureus ATCC 33862, Candida albicans ATCC 10234) decreased significantly (P <0.01) under the effect of the hydro-ethanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis. L prepared at 60, 80 and 100%. The results indicate that the hydro-ethanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis.L from the Naama study region possesses a bactericidal effect against the test strain (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 33862 and Candida albicans ATCC 10234).
