Plants in the Lamiaceae family are widely used in traditional medicine, cosmetics, and spices and as flavoring agents in foods. This family is known for a wealth of species possessing medicinal properties with a strong history of use since ancient times and is well known for its high content of essential oils.To this end we valued tested the biological activity of essential oils of Lavandula dentata (Lamiaceae).Our results showed that L. dentata has a great potential as a biopesticide because of its good insecticidal activity.. This study aims to d determine the insecticidal activity of the methanoic extract and the essential oil against the insect of stored foodstuffs Sitophilus oryzae. Where a mortality rate of more than 50% was recorded for two weeks, while the HE showed good activity insecticide on the insect pest. Pest control in agriculture is usually achieved by the application of synthetic insecticide has resulted in
