Abstract

This study was entitled "Evaluation of the contribution of the documentary credit service in supporting foreign trade", which revolves around financing foreign trade through documentary credit, where we were based on the descriptive approach during the theoretical aspect, which shows the basics of foreign trade, financing and generalities about documentary credit, while the applied part was presented through the analysis of the documentary credit service in supporting foreign trade. Where we conducted a field study at the level of the Algerian Foreign Bank, Mostaganem Agency 066, we found that the agency uses the documentary credit technology because it is one of the most prominent guarantee and payment tools, and this is what makes it the mediator to complete commercial operations well, and documentary credit is a technique governed by the unified international rules and customs for documentary credits issued by the Chamber of Commerce, which aims to unify the work of this technology at the international level
